New Story Concept Art Dump

So Evan and I have been working on a story to be made into a graphic novel.

The concept for this story first came to life some many years ago when we were playing City of Villains and had oodles of characters interacting with one another. Back then it didn't have a plot of any type though, just something silly we joked around with. As time passed Evan started coming up with character backgrounds and solid plots and seemed quite interested in turning this into something serious (and not the comedic style in the comic above). He's been working on outlining a story and writing out scripts, and I've been plugging away with art styles and character concept art.

I am prohibited to talk about the plot unfortunately, but you can see the character artwork for your viewing pleasure.

Champions Online September 2nd patch notes:

"The inner workings of Retcon have been revamped\! Now, players can Retcon as far back as they'd like in their character's history, regardless of their level. Additionally, we've rebalanced costs based on the "potency" of what it is you're changing (along with how far back in your tree you're going). That is, Characteristic Focuses and Innate Talents are the most expensive changes to make, followed by Powers, then Talents and Travel Powers, and lastly Advantages and Energy Builders. Costs will still increase the further back you go, however the cost progression has changed, meaning that the first four powers or so will be relatively inexpensive, while anything beyond that will slowly get more expensive."

You have no idea how happy this makes me. You must understand that when it comes to any game that involves PvP, no matter how terribad said PvP is, I'm a min/maxing nut who freaks out if I made a wrong choice somewhere in my leveling of a PvP geared character.

In the past games I've played there's always been restrictions and limitations to respecing powers/class. I don't know why companies feel the need to punish players due to game changes and whatnot, but now I don't have to worry about that in Champions. Happy dance!

Finally I got my old Intuos tablet working on Windows 7 x64! The Wacom tech people said it couldn't be done! I laugh at their petty excuses!

Gencon:
Just got back from Gencon. A rather good year. I didn't -make- any money (since the cost getting there is so high since I live so effing far away) but I sold about $700 worth of stuff. Which is much better then what I did last year. Last year was just depressing.

People adored the Egyptian pieces I did, Evan was the one who suggested I whore myself out with that theme since in the past all the Anubis prints I had sold well. I think when it comes to conventions I'll make my 'thing' mythological creatures and Gods, unfortunately drawing solely original creations doesn't quite attract as many people as I would like.

I got to see Ann this year at Gencon, beens so long since I've hung out with my dear childhood friend. I didn't get to hang with her as much as I would have liked to, I was rather drained by the end of each day and couldn't be out long since I had to be at the booth fairly early in the morning. But we had some fun times.

Oh, Evan wrote a Warlust and Kaiserin sex scene while at the convention. It's hawt. I'll consider uploading it once I find where it went...

Last year I commissioned David Wong to do an image of Hinodrase. Now, I will say Mr. Wong is a talented artist (I'd link you to his site but the website he has on his card http://davidwongart.com doesn't exist) however, he's absolutely horrible with time management. I commissioned a piece last year, called him several times during the year, sent numerous e-mails, and only got the work done at the con this year. You think that's bad? I was talking to my friend's friend there and he commissioned a piece from him -three- years ago and only got it done during the last ten minutes the convention hall was even open. The piece turned out nicely, but seriously, three years?

Anyways, here's what he did for me, one other unfortunate note is he messed up her hair, apparently he heard 'black' when I said 'red.' Ho hum, still rather happy with it.

Old scanner went on the blink some time ago, bought a brand new one (only $150! 11x17!) since I actually have some money to spend now. This one *actually* works on new and 64-bit operating systems, my old one I had to install Windows XP x32 to actually use. It was kinda a pain. But this one is running smooth on Windows 7, hurrah!
